R16 Korea 2015

In case you didn’t know, R16 Korea is an “international b-boy tournament and urban arts culture festival” event hosted by the Korea Tourism Organization.  The annual event is produced by Cartel Creative Inc.  The 2015 edition of R16 Korea was held at Junggu Jangchung Gymnasium over the span of September 12-13th and featured graffiti exhibitions and a street market in addition to the tournament.

For 2015, the crew battles were done a little differently.  In the past, each country was represented by their best crew.  This year, each national team that made it to the finals was made up of a 4-member crew, the one-on-one b-boy winner, and two wildcard members.  We will spare you all the details of the format change, but feel free to read all about it from R16 right here.

All in all, each of the participants did an awesome job representing for their countries, but only a few were left standing as champions at the end of it.  Here are the results:

Popping Solo Champion – Prince (FRA)
Locking Solo Champion – Moon (KOR)
B-boy Solo Champion – Menno (RUS)

Crew Battle Champions – Russia
Crew Battle Runners-up – USA
Best Showcase – Korea
