If you are into the whole mainstream electronic music scene, you might be familiar with The Kemist.  He’s had an incredible year collaborating with artists like Yellow Claw, Tropkillaz, DirtcapsCesqeaux and Seek N’ Destroy.  He is also featured on LNY TNZ and Ruthless‘ track ‘Fired Up’ which is set to release next year on February 2nd through Yellow Claw‘s Barong Family label, one of Spinnin’ Records’ artist-led offshoots.  ‘Fired Up’ was premiered by Carnage at Tomorrow World 2014 and was well received by the crowd.  Earlier this month, The Kemist dropped a new mixtape entitled “Mixtape No. 1 Party Animal” with Tropic Electric, an entertainment company based in Kingston, Jamaica.  The Kingston-native came from “royal beginnings” since his mother is Marcia Griffiths, the “Queen of Reggae”.  His style is rooted in his childhood and upbringing.    By mixing Reggae/Dancehall with high energy, big-drop electronic music, he creates a truly unique sound.  This newest release is part of an upcoming bi-annual series that will be available for free download on Tropic Electric’s SoundCloud.  The Kemist is finishing out 2014 with a US tour and will be undertaking a UK and European tour next year.  2015 will also see the release of his debut EP with Tropkillaz.
